The Ohio State Buckeyes secured their place in the National Championship game with a 28-14 victory over the University of Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Before the game, a poignant scene unfolded as nearly all Ohio State players knelt in prayer on the field, a testament to the team’s strong faith.

This display of faith is not new for the Buckeyes. Throughout the season, players have openly embraced their Christian beliefs. Notably, during a chaotic on-field brawl with the University of Michigan, several players from both teams paused the altercation to huddle in prayer, demonstrating a remarkable display of sportsmanship and faith in the midst of adversity.

The team’s faith has been evident off the field as well. In August, a revival event on campus saw numerous Buckeye players share their testimonies and witness to their faith, resulting in dozens of baptisms.

The Buckeyes’ victory has generated excitement across the state, including from Senator J.D. Vance, the incoming Vice President of the United States. Vance, an avid Ohio State fan, joked on social media about the difficult decision he faced between attending his own inauguration and watching his beloved Buckeyes compete for the national title.

The National Championship game will take place on January 20th in Atlanta, Georgia, where the Buckeyes will face the University of Notre Dame.
