Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old man who previously identified himself as a gospel singer, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Salome Adaidu, a serving corps member. The gruesome discovery was made in Papalana, Nasarawa State, where Ajayi was found in possession of Adaidu’s severed head.
Ajayi was apprehended while attempting to dispose of the remains. During questioning, he confessed to the murder, claiming it was a result of jealousy and suspicion of infidelity. He stated that the act was not premeditated but occurred during a heated argument.
Adaidu’s family has expressed shock and demanded justice. They denied any prior knowledge of a relationship between their daughter and the suspect.
