Apostle Johnson Suleman, Senior Pastor of Omega Fire Ministries, has delivered a scathing critique of Nigeria’s current economic woes, attributing them directly to the choices made during the 2023 elections. Speaking at the “Recovery Conference 2025” in Bauchi State, Suleman didn’t hold back, stating that Nigerians are “partly” experiencing the consequences of their electoral decisions.

Suleman pointedly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, highlighting the lack of a clear manifesto and a campaign driven by a sense of “entitlement” rather than a concrete vision. He further accused the administration of mismanaging the oil sector, warning of potentially irreversible damage to the nation’s economy. “The oil sector has been plundered,” he stated, expressing doubt about Nigeria’s recovery within the next 10 to 15 years.

Adding weight to Suleman’s criticisms, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed echoed these concerns, warning that Tinubu’s policies lack “a clear vision” and are leading the nation towards “perdition and destruction.” Mohammed vowed to continue speaking out against policies that “shortchange Nigerians,” emphasizing that the people “deserve better.”

The joint critique from a prominent religious leader and a state governor adds significant weight to the growing concerns about Nigeria’s economic direction. Suleman urged Nigerians to carefully consider their choices in the upcoming 2027 elections, suggesting that the current hardship should serve as a crucial lesson. He implied that only through informed voting can the nation avoid repeating past mistakes. The meeting, which included a courtesy visit to the Government House and other senior pastors like Dr. Kingsley Aigbe, underscores the seriousness of the concerns raised.
