Award-winning singer and photographer TY Bello has expressed her admiration for today’s gospel music, highlighting its rich, scripture-based content amidst a music industry often criticized for prioritizing beats over meaningful lyrics.

In a chat with PUNCH’s Saturday Beats, Bello shared, “There’s a refreshing depth in the music coming from today’s young Christian artists. So much of it is anchored in God’s word—and that makes it life-giving.”

She continued, “It’s a beautiful reminder to dwell in the word. Anytime we spend time with God and allow Him to birth songs in us, those songs carry life and power. Yes, the production can be excellent, but what truly transforms is the foundation—the Word of God. That’s what feeds the soul.”

Offering encouragement to young believers, Bello added, “We are the light of the world, and it’s important we never dim that light.”

“You never know who’s waiting for a word of hope. Everyone needs God, and we are carriers of His message. Let’s be bold and unashamed to share it—because this world is hungry for the light we carry.”
