Ifedayo Ayilaran entered the University of Lagos (Unilag) with a clear goal: to graduate with first-class honors. Through dedicated effort, unwavering faith, and a touch of divine grace, Ayilaran achieved that goal and has now secured a full-time position with a bank abroad.

“It was a clear goal from the start,” Ayilaran said, reflecting on her academic journey. “I entered university with a lot of motivation and enthusiasm from high school.” Recognizing that achieving top marks required going “above and beyond,” Ayilaran combined rigorous study with consistent prayer. “Most importantly, I combined my hard work with consistent prayers, and by God’s grace, it all paid off in the end,” she stated.

Ayilaran readily credits her success to her faith. “At the risk of sounding cliché, God,” she said. “God has helped me, and grace has brought me this far. Hard work is great, but He who blesses the hard work is greater.”

Her academic success has paved the way for a promising career in finance. After developing a strong interest in the field during her final year, Ayilaran secured a summer internship with a bank abroad, which then led to a full-time job offer. She notes that the skills gained from her mass communication degree have proven invaluable in this new career path. “I’m excited for the future and eager to see where this journey takes me,” Ayilaran concluded.
